Welcome to the Quality Management Office at the University of Winchester.

The Quality Management Office (QMO) is responsible for managing the University's processes to assure the quality and standards of its academic provision.

Key areas of management and responsibility are:

  • Annual programme monitoring
  • Academic Regulations and associated policies
  • Audits and reviews
  • Collaborative Provision
  • External Examiners
  • Periodic programme review
  • Programme Approval and modifications
  • Quality Assurance procedures
  • Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies Register
  • Student Appeals

In managing the above activities, the QMO will:

  • Provide professional expert advice and information to University colleagues, external bodies and partner organisations in relation to quality assurance matters
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and Academic Regulations that support academic activity and meet the FHEQ and QAA Codes of practice
  • The corresponding policies, procedures and guidance
  • Assist with the understanding of and monitor the implementation of the University’s quality assurance system
  • In conjunction with the University Staff Development and Training Group, provide support and staff development in key quality assurance areas
  • Act as a central contact for external quality assurance activities and bodies, such as:
    - Association for Collaborative Provision of HE in FE in England (ACP)
    - Council of Validating Universities (CVU)
    - Institutional Liaison Scheme
    - NHS, Health Professions Council
    - Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB)
    - Quality Assurance Agency (QAA)
