Master's Degrees

MA Death, Religion and Culture

MTh Orthodox Studies

‘The Theotokos and Christ’ at the monastery of Chora, ConstantinopleThis programme offers a wide-ranging study of Orthodox Christian tradition and practice, including theology, history, ecclesiology, tradition, liturgy and art. It draws on a variety of academic disciplines and discourses to enable students to reflect critically on the entirety of Orthodox faith, tradition and practice. 

 

 

MTh Religion, Ethics and Society

The MTh Religion, Ethics and Society focusses on the engagement of religious and theological traditions with contemporary society, culture and politics. It is ideal for graduates who wish to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills in theology and religious studies, professionals such as teachers, ministers and religious leaders seeking a course of advanced professional development, and those hoping to move on to MPhil/PhD research. 

 

Research Degrees

The Department welcomes enquiries about enrolling in MPhil/PhD degrees. We hold regular research seminars for our graduate students.

Facilities and Training

Full-time research students have their own office space and the same library borrowing and IT rights as members of staff, while part-time research students have the same IT and library access as full-time students, but have access to shared office space. Research students also benefit from generic research skills training classes together with students from all other University research centres.
