You do not have to have a problem as such: if you feel confused, unhappy or find it hard to focus and concentrate on your studies, talking to a counsellor helps to clarify and explore what is troubling you. It offers a confidential relationship which you can safely use for feedback, challenge and support and a rare space for reflection and self development.
You may have an issue with making or keeping relationships. You may be feeling anxious or depressed and not be sure why.
Through the process of coming to know more about yourself and having greater expression and communication skills, you can identify choices and make closer connections with others. As a student wrote: "I want to thank you for helping me to help myself to become the person I know I can be". Emotional issues can often block the ability to study to your full potential and counselling helps to undo these blocks.
Sessions are also offered on topics like stress busting, eating disorders, building self-esteem and assertiveness skills.
