Winchester hosts over 350 networked PCs located in the Library, the Kenneth Kettle open access building, the Learning Café situated in the University Centre, Medecroft and at the Winchester Business School at the West Downs campus. We also have a number of computer suites for teaching. In addition, students have access to Apple computers in the Multimedia Centre for specialist applications.
All campus accommodation has internet access (wired and wireless) at no extra cost, and wireless is available in virtually all buildings providing students with flexible study options.
Our intranet pages hold a good selection of information and students have access to training material to support their studies.
IT Services offer a comprehensive photocopying and binding service (including full-colour posters) for all your copying and printing requirements.
The Learning Café, situated in the University Centre on the main campus, offers:
• 24-hour a day access
• Café counter selling excellent coffee and snacks
• 50 PCs
• Wireless access
• Comfy seating for group work or just relaxing with friends
The centre hosts two a purpose-built TV studio, two newsrooms with Apple computers, radio and audio studios and an Apple training suite.
The centre is open 24 hours a day and students are encouraged to use the facilities for their own projects as well as coursework.
Multimedia loan counter
Based within the Multimedia Centre, students can access a free loan service offering a wide range of equipment that includes media players, camera, laptops and much more.
