Lisa Traxler - Letters Home
Lisa Traxler was Artist in Residence at Portsmouth Grammar School from January to April 2008. Researching the Archives of the school enabled her to work with a unique collection of school photographs that inspired the work on show.
As the artist explains: "The narrative of the pieces echo fragments of time, recording the truth; these translated, retrieved images pursue an element of nostalgia. Many of the pieces reverberate with the ghosts of time, stitched and textured in intimate gestures."
