“My work deals with the emotion of the domestic space – the emotion that is caught up with living, and which is distracted by “stuff” and “things” rather than face the disillusionment of everyday life.

I would like the show to encourage people to reflect on the nature of “home life” and what really takes place “at home”.  My work examines the use of possessions to deal with disappointment and disenchantment.  My photographs use old pieces of china (not “good” china but “nice” china) to emphasise the passage and entrapment of, and by, time. The drypoints and etchings invoke sexual desire and disillusionment. The paintings are more direct in their use of colour, in freedom versus control, and deal with the subject in a more abstract way.”
