"My work is concerned with the physical presence of man-made forces that exist to provide, protect or bind us with the natural environment and the common perspective we share in this.
Within my work, imposed and uniform boundaries illustrate a level of control over natural materials and reflect a collective engagement with nature concerned with the ability of re-ordering to our advantage.
The natural materials within ’Standing Divide’ are iron and limestone, which have been processed into steel and concrete. These two industries together have given us an enormous amount of ability to control our environments and their arrangement in this work is intended to reflect this power."
