Statue of King Alfred

Statue of King Alfred on display outside the entrance to the top level of the University centre

This statue of King Alfred is actually a topiary frame that was originally made by the Wadham Trading Company for the Great Hall.  It was later offered to the University and purposefully left unplanted.  It provides an exemplar of learning, scholarship and Christianity.
