Biography

I have been at the University of Winchester since September 2008 and became Dean in November 2009. As Dean I am responsible for managing all aspects of the Faculty’s activities. I also lead a number of University-wide projects, including the Winchester Research Apprenticeship Programme, and other initiatives to do with the student experience.

Outside the University, I am active within my discipline area as a member of the University Council for Modern Languages Executive and Treasurer of the University Council of General and Applied Linguistics. I am involved in Modern Foreign Language initiatives within the UK, including Routes into Languages, and a member of the Steering Group of The English Project, based at Winchester. I am an auditor for the Quality Assurance Agency, involved in the audit of other Higher Education Institutions within the UK, and regularly act as External Examiner for programmes nationally and internationally.
