Intensities
Experiments and Intensities is a hybrid crossing of an academic journal, a book series and an artistic product.
Experiments and Intensities explores how new and alternative forms of publication can transmit the complex results of performance-as-research-led processes through metaphor and artistic re-creation and re-mediation. The series intends to give the ‘reader’ a felt experience of these processes and products, an experience that uses artistic metaphor and non-traditional academic communication methods to bring the reader inside the work in a sentient and experiential, and not just intellectual, way. The series re-embodies performance as research work and uses metaphorical languages to provide Deleuzian, Bergsonian and Dewey-derived engagements with analysis (that includes lived experience for the reader and not just a recounting of artistic experience for the reader) in order to transmit rigour.
