University fundraising activities

Staff and students at the University are taking part our own activities to raise funds for the Hampshire Diamond Jubilee Gambia Project.

Faculties, departments and teams across the University and the Student Union have come up with a number of ideas and suggestions for raising funds for the Hampshire Diamond Jubilee Gambia Project 2012.

These include the following activities. For further details please follow the links to the left.

  • Go4Gambia - University staff will run, walk, cycle or swim as far as they can to contribute to the equivalent distance from Winchester to The Gambia
  • PadWag - People And Dogs Walking - Action for Gambia - took place on 27 March 2011
  • Secondhand book sale in Winchester High Street - took place on 21 May 2011
  • Jigsaw Challenge - 24,000 piece jigsaw - sponsorship and creation opportunities

Other ongoing activities include the sale of Gambia Project campaign wristbands around the University, 'pink bucket' collections at Open Days, reunions and public events.

As at the end of 2011, the funds raised from University and SU activities total over £11,000. A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far!
