I am the Senior Champion for Equality and Diversity in the University. The Vice-Chancellor and all members of the Senior Management team are deeply committed to creating a University community in which all members can flourish. We delight in diversity and have a passion for equality. As Senior Champion I have a particular responsibility to the Vice-Chancellor for these matters. I have a long history of involvement in equality and justice movements and as a theologian I have written a great deal on sexuality and gender in the Christian tradition. I chair the University's Equality and Diversity Committee.
Our staff tell us through our Staff Survey that the University is an inclusive place to work but there is always more we can do. We want to be models of best practice. So if there is anything you, as a student or member of staff, think we are doing wrong or anything we can do better, please do let me know.
Together we can continue to create a safe, inclusive and hospitable environment for all regardless of race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, belief, marital/civil ceremony status, disability or parental responsibilities.
