The Expansive Education Network is a membership organisation set up to:

  • encourage local networking, idea sharing and professional development between professionals who are passionate about expansive education
  • enable teachers to learn how to undertake action research and carry out and publish their own enquiries into expansive education.

What is the Expansive Education Network?

Expansive education is an umbrella term for all teachers, schools, colleges and organisations that are committed to the development of useful, transferable habits of mind throughout education.

The Expansive Education Network (eedNET) brings together teachers who are committed to expansive education to undertake their own enquiries, share knowledge and take part in professional development.

eedNET is a membership organisation bringing together teachers, school leaders, universities, researchers and individuals committed to preparing young people to thrive in their future lives.

Action Research Workshops

Action research is at the heart of what eedNET does. eedNET partner universities offer support and guidance to eedNET member schools, ensuring that teachers can plan simple, short but meaningful enquiries, capable of being undertaken in a school term. Find out more about action research in schools.

Your eedNET membership includes 3 CPD sessions per staff member. Because this is a charitable enterprise we are able to keep the costs to a minimum with the typical price of a CPD action research session as little as £21 a head.

To register for workshops visit the events calendar.

Action Research workshops are delivered by eight university partners across England and Wales:

  • Bath Spa University
  • Durham University
  • Institute of Education, London
  • Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Plymouth University
  • South West Wales Centre of Teacher Education
  • University of Winchester
