Protecting Planet Earth: Religion and Climate Change
In April this year the University of Winchester hosted an event for young people in partnership with Winchester Action against Climate Change and Hampshire County Council which focused on the issues of religion and the environment. Pupils from schools across Hampshire attended this interactive and dynamic event which investigated the relationship between faith and the climate, offered tips on how our carbon output can be reduced, and explored ways in which this information could be shared with family, friends and community groups. The day was a resounding success with plenty of positive feedback from both teachers and pupils. There are plans to build on this pilot event in the future, with the resources designed especially for the day by the excellent WINACC facilitators to be made available for teachers online.
