Biography

Tony Evans has a background in global politics. He teaches programmes on international relations and the politics of universal human rights. He also has in interest in the politics of Islam, in particular, the social and political norms and values associated with Islam in a globalized world order.

Research Interests

Tony Evans’ research interests have focused on the politics of human rights, both historically and in the current era. His most recent research has looked the way new technology has enabled non-western cultures to transmit ideas that challenge dominant conceptions of politics and society. In particular, this has focused upon Islam and Confucianism.

Funding Awards and Professional Membership

Tony Evans most recent award was a Leverhulme Fellowship during which he researched for his latest book, The Political Economy of Human Rights: Critical Processes.
