Academic partnerships
We are looking to grow our collaborative partnerships, if you are interested in becoming a partner please get in contact.
What is an Academic Partnership?
Academic partnerships are collaborative agreements between 'The University of Winchester' and approved partners. The university is responsible for the academic standards of the partner's awards and each programme is validated by the university. A Memorandum of Agreement details the exact responsibilities and obligations of both parties regarding academic standards and the quality of their Programmes. The university's on-campus quality assurance framework is applied to collaborative provision following careful consideration of guidance from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Code of Practice.
What kind of academic partner can I become?
The University views all its partnerships as collaborative but also uses two further terms to clarify this provision. The first is validated provision which means that the University has confidence in you as an organisation to ensure your own quality processes are in line with those required by the QA councils. In these cases the University simply requires you to produce Annual Monitoring Reports and External Examiner Reports for scrutinee by the university and a University representative sits in on the examination board to monitor the process.
The second option is collaborative which means that the University wishes to have a closer eye on your quality processes in the first instance. In this case the University will appoint a Programme Leader who will assist with all paperwork and the PL and the Partnership Coordinator will attend, chair and minute the programme committee meetings you hold. This paperwork along with the Annual Monitoring Reports will be scrutinized by the Faculty Quality Committee and feedback will come via the PL.
Benefits to Partners
Collaborative partners have the support of a dedicated Programme Leader based at the University of Winchester. Partners have the opportunity to receive annual staff development training around pedagogic and theological topics. There is the opportunity to share good practice, contribute to current research projects and attend an exciting, diverse range of theological conferences held at the University of Winchester.
