Institute of Theology & Christian Counselling
The Institute of Theology and Christian Counselling (ITCC) previously known as the Institute of Christian Training is the training arm of the New Testament Assembly and became a partner in 2011.
Background
The ITCC is an Interdomonational Evangelical Institute with a strong academic reputation serving in particular, though not exclusively, the Black Majority Churches. ITCC was founded in 1979 offering English and Religious Studies to students studying GCE O' level. The success of these classes led to the institute offering theological studies from 1984. The ITCC works collaboratively with other Black Majority Churches and through these relationships students are drawn from a wide pool of churches including the Historical churches. The Institute is based in London but there is also an international element to these programmes which will eventually run in St Vincent.
Programmes
In 2011 three programmes were validated by the University of Winchester:
CertHE/DipHE Applied Theology
The Applied Theology programme is a response to the growing need among the Black Majority Churches for theological training to enhance their professional delivery in areas of their work, and to place them on a comparative academic level with their peers in other pastoral services.
CertHE/DipHE Church Management
This popular course is designed for Ordinands preparing for ordained ministry, those in leadership positions within the Church with no formal theological and practical training, and aspiring leaders
CertHe/Dip HE Pastoral Care and Christian Counselling
These programmes are a timely response to the increasing number of hurting, distressed and depressed people in our churches, who need to be helped through counselling and pastoral care to spiritual, emotional, physical and mental wholeness.
