Rebecca manages the day-to-day workings of the Centre of Religion, Reconciliation and Peace, as well as coordinating key projects and significant events for the centre. This includes high-profile talks and conferences, such as hosting Nobel peace laureates at the annual Peace Jam events.
Rebecca brings to the centre substantial experience in third sector project management. She has managed Salaam Shalom since 2010, a Muslim and Jewish grass-roots charity which champions creative approaches to dialogue and aims to counter the common narrative of Muslims and Jews in conflict. This includes a varied events programme (including a Muslim and Jewish arts festival) and educational projects in primary and secondary schools, as well as resources for teachers.
She carried forward a project in primary schools that developed out of the Prevent programme in Bristol. Under her leadership, the charity received awards for its commitment to fostering tolerance. Rebecca has also worked with the national body of Quakers of Britain, police and councils, and been engaged in lobbying government.
Rebecca is also a freelance curator with a keen interest in using arts as a tool for social change. She has worked with hundreds of artists and creative facilitators, producing arts exhibitions and festivals. Visit Rebecca's website.
