Biography
Neil Marriott is the Pro Vice Chancellor (Business Development) and Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Sport at the University of Winchester and Director of Winchester Business School. Before joining Winchester, Neil was the Associate Dean of the Business School at Glamorgan University where he was Professor of Accounting and Finance. He was previously a senior lecturer in accounting and finance at Cardiff Business School.
In his role as ProVC, Neil holds the key responsibilities of effective University-wide liaison with business and business-related communities, locally, nationally and internationally and ensuring a step-change growth in numbers of international students.
His research embraces: accounting education, NHS financial management and small business financial management, including angel finance. Neil is the Chair of the Advisory Board for the Business, Management, Accounting and Finance subject centre for the Higher Education Academy. Neil has chaired the British Accounting and Finance Association’s Special Interest Group in Accounting Education since 1999. He is also the academic member of the Auditing Practices Board’s SME sub committee.
