Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR)
Web-based Teaching and Learning Resources.
Supporting the development of effective social environmental and sustainable accounting (SESA) education and learning practices has been a critical part of CSEAR activities. CSEAR members have pioneered the integration of SESA material into university accounting curriculum, professional accounting syllabi and developed specialist stand-alone classes.
Over a period of 20 years CSEAR members have built up a unique set of teaching and learning resources that have drawn upon these experiences. It was decided that CSEAR should develop a web-site as a focus to build and reflect upon existing practice, consolidating and communicating this experience and these resources in a more structured way. The web-site contains a wealth of material that members have developed, willing to share with others and have voluntarily contributed.
The website (https://sites.google.com/site/cseareducation/) contains; downloadable teaching resources: Case Studies and tutorials; Exam Questions; Assessment examples; Reading lists; Books, textbooks, Movies; Social and environmental accounting research bibliography; class room exercises;
SESA class design tips; how to overcome institutional obstacles to introducing SESA education; SESA accreditation review; class outlines and CSEAR contacts. The principle behind the website is that it should be the focus for dialogue and collaboration to improve and expand the teaching of social, environmental and sustainable accounting.
