Sharon's main areas of expertise include primary geography, environmental education and outdoor learning and primary professional practice. Between 2008 - 2012, Sharon is an External Examiner for Teeside University on their Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree.

Research Interests
Sharon's research interest is 'The Geography of happiness'. This includes exploring the links between children's personal geographies, wellbeing and the environment. Also, exploring the use of visual representation techniques, for example, scrapbooking to seek children's views on special places. Sharon's other research interest is exploring children's views of a four year woodland experience. She is also involved with a faculty project based on education for sustainable development.
