Why study at Winchester?
Winchester has been central to the legal system for at least one thousand years and played a major role in transmitting and preserving the lawcodes of Alfred and his successors which were to have a major role in defining the common law of later medieval England. Today Winchester has a major court centre hearing cases at the highest level.
All law degrees recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board (known as Qualifying Law Degrees) involve the study of seven key subjects known as the 'Foundations of Legal Knowledge'. The LLB at Winchester is a QLD and includes these core elements as well as optional legal subjects.
