Performing Arts

The Department of Performing Arts is a lively, creative and exciting.

With over 600 students and 26 staff, the Department comprises a range of cognate undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which are characterised by an enquiry into the relationship between theory and practice of contemporary performance in various contexts. Some of our programmes are aimed at the study and practice of the arts as agents for change in communities; others study the processes of creating and performing work as disciplines in themselves.

We have two fully equipped performance spaces and have recently moved into the purpose built Performing Arts Studios. We have strong external links with venues and festivals in the city of Winchester and the region, and are developing and expanding our national and international links.
