Risk Assessment
Following normal industry practice, the university requires all performances to be covered by a written risk assesment
Risk assesments are often thought of as being arduous, time consuming and difficult to do, but this needn't be the case. We all carry out a sub-conscious risk assesment every time we cross the road - What is the likelyhood of being knocked over? How seriously would I be injured if it happend? What can I do to reduce the risk? walking up the road to the zebra crossing would be a very effective control measure.
Below is the blank risk assesment form. Most performance related modules have some risk assesment training built in but if you need more advice the ask one of the theatre technicians. If you are risk assessing a performance you will need to bring an approved form signed by a theatre technician to the performance.
