From 1996-1999, Justine was a research student in the Department of Cultural Studies and Sociology at the University of Birmingham, where she also taught on a range of modules on aspects of Popular Culture. At this time, she also taught Cultural Studies at Aston University and the University of Cental England.
Justine has worked on Media Studies and Media Production programmes at Winchester since 1999. She was Head of Subject for Media and Film Studies from 2003 to 2005, and Acting Head of Learning and Teaching for the Faculty of Arts in 2014, and attended the Aurora Leadership Programme for Women in HE. In 2008 she led a two-week study visit with 13 Media Production students to New Delhi working with SAHARA (AIDS & drug rehab charity) to produce a charity appeal video and was a guest lecturer at the Asian Academy of Film and Television, Noida. In 2011 she worked on Sound FM, a one-month community RSL, as Schools Co-ordinator and Sunday Breakfast Presenter, in collaboration with Winchester BID, Winchester City Council and Winchester Cathedral.
