We are proud that our BSc Sports Science programme is officially endorsed by the British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (BASES). This accreditation reflects the programme's ability to provide students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to enter into sport and exercise science professions.

The Department has attracted significant funding in recent years and its facilities were officially launched as the 'Centre for Sport' in the Summer of 2011. Within the Centre we have a dedicated Sport & Exercise Physiology Laboratory, a Sport & Exercise Biomechanics Laboratory, and a custom-built Sports Analysis Suite. These facilities will also continue to improve each year as new equipment and software is brought in.
Research activity in the Department is organised into three main areas: applied sport-related research; learning and teaching-related research; and consultancy/knowledge exchange-related activities (organised through our Sports Science Consultancy Unit).
