Biography

James joined the Department in February 2010. He has a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science and an MSc in Sports Performance (distinction) both from the University of Portsmouth. Following his undergraduate degree, James spent 6 months as a Cardiographer at St Richard’s Hospital – Chichester before taking a sports technicians post at Southampton University in 2005. Over the past 6 years, James has provided sport science support to a range of athletes including professional and club level football players, triathletes, cyclists, club runners and the armed forces. James is currently working towards BASES accreditation (scientific support) through the BASES Supervised Experience programme. He is currently enrolled on a PGCL&T in HE at The University of Winchester and hopes to start his PhD in 2012. In his spare time James enjoys playing many sports including football and golf. He is also an active runner/cyclist and is keen to take part in some more adventure races having completed the Scottish Coast to Coast in 2010.
