Global Challenge Competition
20 June 2011
On Friday17th June , our team of 4 first year students from the Business Management and Accounting and Finance undergraduate programmes took part in the final of the CIMA Global Challenge competition at Barclays Capital, Canary Wharf, London. The team was made up of
Claire Harman, Rebecca Helmn, Natalie Mammana, Alice Wibberley. For this competition the teams had to produce a report based on a case study; a 2 page synopsis of the report; a 3 minute video about themselves and CIMA; and deliver a 20 minute presentation to a panel of 4 judges, followed by Q&As for 10 minutes.
The team were one of 5 finalists from 60 original entries from Universities across the UK and I am delighted to advise that the team not only won 3rd place but also the award for 'best video'. This is a fantastic achievement, especially given that they were competing against 3rd year students in the final.
During the day all the teams were given the opportunity to network with employers from organisations such as Barclays, CIMA, Coca Cola, Arcadia, J P Morgan, RBS etc.
