Cine Wessex- How we broadcast ourselves

7th December 2010, 6.15pm

Room 2, Winchester Business School, West Downs Campus

"Joe has been a director of Cinewessex for over 10 years. His experience in the broadcast and video production industry is extensive. Starting out as a driver and cameraman assistant within the Crew & Hire department, he knows from experience what it is like to be involved in all levels of the production process. Recently Joe led a team who secured preferred supplier status for the provision of dry and wet hire facilities to the BBC and was pivotal in shaping the Cinewessex High Denition service to t the requirements of clients. Helena has worked in marketing for 20 years and her experience as Head of Marketing at Interora and Brand Management roles at McVities gave her the grounding in sound marketing techniques that she bases her work on today. Helena acknowledges that marketing Cinewessex in the specialised broadcast and production industry brings about its own issues but after years of trying dierent techniques the team really feel that they have found a way to cut through the noise out there and get their message across to the people who need to hear it.".

Sir Peter Michael - Life of an Entrepreneur

Basingstoke - The Ark

22nd November 2010 - 6pm

Life of an Entrepreneur for E-Network event

“Sir Peter’s career has spanned rather too long and rather too wide a diversity of general entrepreneurial projects, he has yet to make up his mind what he intends to be when he grows up!

He is best known as the founder of Classic FM, the UK’s most profitable commercial radio station, where he was Chairman until 2008.  Other items in his kit bag have included a range of technical companies and director and chairman positions on private and listed companies; from owning Cosworth Engineering, rescuing crashed Cray Electronics in the 1990’s, to building vineyards in California which of the many businesses he has founded, is the only one that carries the family name.

Locally, Sir Peter brought together a partnership of local business interests with the District Council to form the Greenham Common Trust, of which he is chairman.  He is also chairman a small UK commercial property business called Highcross and the Pelican Cancer Centre at Basingstoke, which has had a major impact on the recovery rate for bowel and liver cancer. “
