Biography

Dr David F. Birks BA, MSc, MSc, PhD is Professor of Marketing at Winchester Business School

Expertise

David’s specialist areas are marketing research and fashion marketing. He has over 25 years experience of teaching and managing postgraduate marketing, management and design programmes.

Publications

David is co-author of Europe’s leading Marketing Research text: Malhotra, N.K., Birks, D.F. and Wills, P., Marketing Research, An Applied Orientation, 4th European Edition, Pearson, 2012. He is co-authoring two further book for Pearson: The Essentials of Marketing Research and Global Fashion Marketing.

Research Interests

How digital developments are shaping traditional and emerging marketing research methods. Grounded theory in marketing research. The use and value of marketing & design research by fashion brands.
