Biography
Karen graduated from Cambridge and the London School of Economics.Karen's first job was working for a City bank during Big Bang. Observing how the banks struggled to adapt to change prompted her to study for a Masters in organisational psychology. During this period Barings Bank collapsed and Karen wrote for the Financial Times about the city trading culture and was interviewed for a number of documentaries.
Karen gained her PhD from Brunel University in 2005 and subsequently published her first book, ‘Leadership Blind Spots and What To Do About Them’.
She is currently senior lecturer at Winchester Business School and director of Waverley Learning an international change management and leadership development consultancy.
She coaches senior executives in the area of leadership and change. Past clients include British Airways, Barclays Bank, BG, Pizza Express, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Texaco, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and the Home Office.
