What we do

The Centre's three streams of activity

 

1. Developing Responsible Leaders by

  • Providing leadership development courses and workshops
  • Hosting talks and educational events in responsible leadership
  • Providing postgraduate qualifications in responsible leadership and management

2. Conducting Practical Research into Responsible Management by

  • Conducting research into responsible management in partnership with local organisation and businesses
  • Hosting international conferences in the area of responsible management

3. Building a Responsible Management  Community by

  • Fostering a community of people who are committed to promoting responsible management practices 
  • Encouraging students and managers to play a responsible role in the community by means of action research, postgraduate projects, undergraduate secondments and executive leadership development programmes in partnership with the not-for-profit sector
  • Hosting regular events that address the concerns and challenges  faced by leaders from all parts  of our local community

We have already begun to undertake some of these projects, for example:

  • We are hosting a series of talks on ‘leading in tough times’ designed to encourage people to take a ‘responsible’ approach to leading their people through the difficult times ahead.
  • We have begun research into how senior executives in high performance environments implement responsible leadership practice
  • Our full time MBA requires students to undertake a project in the community that makes a difference to people lives;
