A student work placement is an integral part of our undergraduate programmes in the Winchester Business School. There is the opportunity to host University of Winchester student from a range of disciplines, for 12 months or for shorter periods of time, some being paid whilst others are not.
Encompassed in the following discipline areas:
- Business Management
- Human Resource Management
- Marketing
- Events Management
- Accounting Finance and Economics
These placements are undertaken following a student's second year of study
Our programmes of study are designed to focus on the needs of business and, as a result, our students are able to integrate quickly into the work environment.
Taking a student placement could be the perfect opportunity to give your business a 'boost'. A placement means an enthusiastic employee keen to make their mark. Also as a business student, they could bring up-to-date knowledge and fresh ideas to the workplace ( PRME)
They can benefit you as they can be:
- An extra support while you are pursuing other business issues
- A means of tackling projects to take them forward
- A route to university resources and knowledge often at the leading edge of technology and current academic thinking
- A cost effective solution to your recruitment needs.
- A potential new recruit.
Not only are you providing valuable work experience but you will be contributing to future university teaching and programme development.
For the student, a placement means a chance to gain real practical experience of the business world. The experience for a student on placement is that they will have the opportunity to develop their 'soft skills' and improve their chance of subsequent student employability and career acceleration when finally entering the world of work.
