  • My placement provided me with the opportunity to really gain hands-on experience within the events industry. With a supportive team around me, I was encouraged to take responsibility for events and ownership over tasks. I can honestly say that I don't think this level of experience could have been gained from other voluntary work or part-time jobs. A further benefit is that the placement has given me a focus for my final year project. With such a daunting task, I have found academic support not only from the team at Winchester, but also from my colleagues within the placement. The placement encouraged me to work consistently on my project, with flexible time within my placement days to carry out the research I required.

  • New Place would be happy to participate in supporting Winchester University Students for a two day placement as we have found Keely’s involvement in the team to be positive for all concerned. It has been nice to see the professionalism of today’s students and we look forward to coaching another student next year. Our student brought new ideas and made interesting observations about our product and service. To support her research product, Keely was instrumental in the attainment of the Green Tourism Award which in today’s climate is a valuable accreditation to hold.

  • I personally think that the Work Placement was the best choice I’ve made in the last three years.  It gave me the opportunity of putting into action everything that I have learnt and getting some work experience within the event industry.
  • Overall I really enjoyed my placement and would recommend it to any student. They will need to take advantage of the services provided by the university and their personal tutors in order to get the most out of it.
