Biography

John Blockley took his first degree in history at Peterhouse, Cambridge, and subsequently worked in the law for some years before studying for his doctorate "Britain and the British in the French Imagination at the time of Fashoda and the Boer War" at Queen Mary's College, University of London.

Expertise

John's research interests focus on the late nineteenth century French press, French and British invasion literature and international relations at the turn of the twentieth century, and he has taughta wide range of history courses centred on both Europe and Britain in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
