Biography
Neil Curtin obtained a first class degree at the University of Lancaster and a distinction in his MA at the Instiutute of United States Studies, the University of London. He was a part-time tutor in American History at the University of Kent between 1988 and 1992 whilst simultaneously holding a part-time position at Winchester. From January 1993 he became a permanent, full-time member of staff at Winchester, teaching both History and American Studies.
He has acted as both Head of Subject and Programme Director to the BAs in American Studies and History. His academic interests are American democracy in the nineteenth century, the Cold War in America and slavery and the American south.
