Alan teaches modules concerned with school based research projects for MA Education and these might focus on any aspect of practitioners' work.
He also teaches an MA module on research methods in education and run a visit to West Africa for teachers. These are used as the basis for writing on professional development.
Alan has recently started a new MA module on Wellbeing and Education.

Research Interests
Alan has a particular interest in wellbeing and its relationship with education and has produced some published work from this.
He is also interested in transformative learning and the professional development arising from challenging experiences like visiting a less developed country.
