Individual Work Based Project

This course takes as a starting point the key idea that teachers understand their own practice more effectively when they subject that practice to close critical attention.

This course will provide support for students to identify and undertake an investigation into some aspect of their professional practice. Sessions will examine: designing an investigation; doing a literature review; using databases for sources; writing for Masters level and understanding criticality.

There will be opportunities for students to discuss their emerging ideas and report on progress with the group. Individual tutorials with the course tutor will also be available to discuss problems and issues, too. Investigations may emphasise a reflective approach or use an action research model as the basis for the work undertaken.
