National Professional Qualification for Headship

Accreditation of NPQH

 Tutor: Alan Hutchison

We are able to accredit, with some additional work, the NPQH qualification as three optional modules of the MA Education. A major feature of the critical reflection will be to place the learning that you have achieved on the NPQH into a wider frame; specifically to examine your experiences with regard to educational research literature.

To gain 60 credits for your work undertaken with NPQH, you need to complete either one or two pieces of reflective writing totalling 4000 words. There are two options: two pieces of writing of 2000 words each or one 4000 word piece. The choice of topic/focus of this writing is yours.

We need to see evidence of your NPQH portfolio of work and some of this work will be used in the appendices of the reflective writing.

You will need to critique readings, discuss your own values and beliefs and use them to reflect upon current and future practice in your own school.
You are entitled to, amongst other things, three hours of supervision with a university tutor.
