- Associate Deans and Directors
- Educational Supervisors
- GP Trainers, Course Organisers and Tutors
Those still in training who are developing a special interest in education
In recent years the programme has gradually become inter-professional. This has been very successful and we are keen to develop this area and would welcome applications from all health-care educators.
Ours is a flexible programme, designed to meet the needs of busy professionals. The full Masters programme can be taken over three years, but the time taken can be extended if desired. Some of our participants prefer to take on a lesser commitment and pursue a post graduate certificate (usually one year) or diploma (two years) in education. The modular structure of the programme means that it can be planned around the demands of life and career. The first two years are made up of modules that are taught in a small group which meets on a Friday morning.
Particular features of this programme are
- Face to face teaching and tutor availability, allowing group debate and individual support
- Emphasis on educational practice, so that students can quickly relate the course to their work, with the research needed for the module assignments and the dissertation being undertaken in people’s own workplace
- The exploration of professional development, developing an understanding of how professionals work and learn
