MA Education - Teachers

This part-time programme enables people working in education to study at an advanced level, to engage in an area of study that is appropriate to them and to gain an accepted academic qualification.

The University of Winchester is pleased to announce that we have been granted a number of funded places for students already registered on the MA Education programme to fund completion of the masters programme during 2011-12 and 2012-13. We will be contacting existing students during June with further information about eligibility for 'Continuer' funding.

 The two characteristics of our programme at the University of Winchester are flexibility and relevance.

The programme is flexible in that:

  • You can study it at your own pace, following courses that start at different times in the year
  • You can choose from a wide range of courses to suit your particular needs and interests
  • You can exit at three different levels: Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Studies (PGCAES); Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Educational Studies (PGDAES); or Masters (MA Education: Professional Enquiry)
  • You can transfer credits accumulated on this programme to other similar programmes elsewhere
  • You can transfer into this programme with similar credits you have obtained from other related Programmes

The programme is relevant in that:

  • Your focus for the whole of the programme will be the education you are undertaking in your own working situation
  • It is concerned with professional education
  • It is based on the philosophy that your professional practice develops when you understand it more clearly and in particular what underpins it
  • The programme aims to promote improved education in school improved educational experiences for pupils, students and trainees, and advances in professional development within education

MA Education – Continuers Funding
Are you eligible for Teaching Agency PPD continuers funding?
If so the dissertation will cost £530, the Practitioner Research module will cost £480.
