Courses
Undergraduate
The Department runs single, main and joint undergraduate degrees based on our popular and highly regarded BSc Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Postgraduate
Our MSc Psychological Research Methods is designed to meet the recognition criteria of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and to provide first-class research training for MPhil/PhD students. Visit our Postgraduate Studies page to find out more.
Conversion
The Graduate Conversion Diploma in Psychology is a course aimed at graduates of other disciplines now wishing to equip themselves for a career in psychology.
Research and research facilities
Research activity is organised into three active research groups, reflecting cognitive, developmental and social psychological research. The Department possesses laboratories for developmental and social observation research, and numerous cubicles for experimental work. Furthermore, the Department has been able to invest in state-of-the-art software and equipment (e.g. EyeLink 1000 eye-tracker, photo).
Quality & Satisfaction
According to the Guardian University Guide published in May 2009, 92% of psychology students at Winchester expressed satisfaction with the quality of teaching in the department, placing us 5th alongside the University of Oxford.
