Biography

Dr Clifford Stevenson is a Lecturer in Social Psychology at the University of Limerick in Ireland. During the academic year 2011-12 he will be taking up the post of Leverhulme Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology.

Dr Stevenson has worked on numerous research projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Irish Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Northern Ireland government. This Leverhulme Visiting Research Fellowship provides a unique and exciting opportunity for Dr Stevenson to share this research experience, establish new collaborations and to contribute to the rapidly growing research culture and capacity of the Department of Psychology.

Dr Stevenson will be an active member of the Social Psychology Research Group as well as contributing to the ongoing research seminar series and to postgraduate research training. He will be working to establish networks of national and international partners with a view to developing sustainable research links and attracting research network funding to the Department.

Along with Dr Russell Luyt (the primary host contact for the Fellowship), Dr David Giles and Dr Magdelena Zawisza, Dr Stevenson will also be developing a number of research grant proposals in the areas of citizenship, national identity and pro-social behaviour, which will be aimed at bringing funding and research positions to the University of Winchester.
