Expertise
Liz is a Senior Lecturer on the English team and is also Route Manager for the part-time PGCE programme. Her main area of expertise is in working with and mentoring teaching students with a focus on children's reading and writing. She has worked as a primary teacher for over 20 years and regularly spends time in school, teaching and supporting children. Liz has visited Australia as a Visiting Scholar at Australian Catholic University (2010).

Research Interests
Liz's research interests are linked to the field of English and in particular the writing process. She has been Strategic Consultant for the Everybody Writes project and continues to use this work to reflect on effective literacy practices. She is working on her EdD with the Open University exploring discursive practices in guided writing.
