Charlotte Hathaway (formerly Slade) is currently a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Development (Physical Education) at the University of Winchester and teaches Educational Studies on both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Initial Teacher Education courses. As well as her teaching commitments, Charlotte delivers extensive Teacher Development in primary schools around Hampshire, the southwest and London on behalf of the University and The National Dance Teachers Association.
Alongside her role at Winchester, Charlotte is also a Research Associate for the Centre for Creativity, Sustainability and Educational Futures group at the University of Exeter. Since 2012, she has worked on numerous European funded projects including CREAT-IT (Implementing creative strategies into Science teaching) and the follow up project CREATIONS (Developing an engaging Science classroom). She has also worked as a freelance researcher and evaluated projects for Laban and the Siobhan Davies Dance Company. She graduated from the University of Exeter in 2013 with a Masters in Creative Arts Education and is currently studying for a Masters in Educational Research Methods at the University of Winchester. She plans to develop her research further into a PhD.
Charlotte has presented her projects at local, national and international conferences. In 2015, Charlotte was awarded funding from the University Council for the Education of Teachers to attend a professional development course at the University of Harvard in Boston.
