The language of inclusion and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo)
Julie has provided a range of in-service training in mainstream and special schools across the region and has undertaken school reviews in partnership with Local Authority colleagues. She has supported colleagues in a university in the North East to validate their NASENCo programme and a University in the Midlands with the validation of their Postgraduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties. She has provided a seminar exploring literacy interventions to trainee educational psychologists at a local university.
In January 2015, Julie led two workshops at the Portswood Teaching School Alliance Angry Learners Conference entitled Social, Emotional and Mental Health: exploring a new category of need.
Julie is available to provide support to schools in developing their inclusive provision and advice on implementing the changes in legislation for special educational needs and disability.
