In today's complex and fast-changing multi-cultural world, the study of these time-honoured subjects is more vital and relevant than ever.
There can be few better places to study theology, religion and philosophy than Winchester. We have close links with Winchester Cathedral, which has been a famous site of Christian worship for more than a millennium. We are within easy reach of major centres such as London and Southampton, where you will find almost every faith community present in Britain. (Photo: Winchester Cathedral, image John Crook)
The Department of Theology, Religion and Philosophy (TRP) offers a broad and varied undergraduate programme. You will be taught by a lively, enthusiastic and highly qualified team of academics, committed to giving the best possible student experience.

The Department of TRP comprises nationally and internationally respected researchers with a wide range of interests. Our links with faith communities and professional groups also ensure that our research has impact well beyond the academic community. Find out more about our academic experts.
Research events held by the Department include the annual 'Death Days' and other conferences, as well as free research seminars; for more information, visit our News and Events page.
Quality, Satisfaction and Career Opportunities
In the Guardian University Guide 2016, Winchester is ranked 18th in the UK for Religion and Theology (out of 44 institutions where Theology and Religious Studies are taught), and 93% of our students were satisfied with the teaching they received.
Our degrees are a great preparation for many careers: recent graduates have gone into journalism, teaching, counselling, social work, law, religious ministry and commerce, as well as postgraduate study and research.
