Big changes are ongoing within the educational sector, change that is in many ways being driven by technology. We may call for the technology to be subservient to the pedagogy, but the tools are allowing us to engage with unforeseen possibilities. Duke University was one of the first to issue iPod touches to all first years (without any particular reason, they were just keen to see what the students would do).
A report investigated the kind of impact devices such as iPad and iPod Touches are having in classrooms. The report states "We're not talking electronic whiteboards or classroom projectors. Those were both minor advancements compared to the sea change we're seeing unfold at the moment." The report sought to discover how they're being used and what the best apps are, from primary schools to universities.
