The University's flagship consultancy unit is ARCA, Archaeology's successful consultancy arm. Launched in March 2005, it carries out work locally as well as further afield, from Bristol to continental Europe. ARCA has particular expertise in geoarchaeology, geomatics and geophysics.

Sports and Exercise Consultancy Unit (SECU)
The Department of Sport and Exercise's consultancy unit SECU, launched in 2006 and formerly knowns as the Sports Science Consultancy Unit, focusses on the disciplines of sport and exercise physiology, psychology, biomechanics & coaching. SECU's services are available to both individuals and teams and all staff are members of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

Winchester Centre for Global Health
Part of the University's Health and Wellbeing Research Group, the CGH reflects and extends the University’s contribution to the common good for those with health education needs in low- and middle-income countries.
The University is also the base of the Winchester branch of the Comino Foundation, an educational trust, and of the Centre for Real-World Learning, which develops knowledge and provides coaching in the field of learning.

Social and public policy development
Dr Adrian Barton, Senior Lecturer in Criminology, has extensive experience in conducting evaluative studies in different policy contexts for statutory and third-sector agencies. His research interests are alcohol, drugs & crime, community safety, and policy making & leadership in multi-agency settings.
