The University of Winchester has a number of consultancy units, with staff offering expertise in a range of subjects, from Archaeology to Psychology and Sport

Archaeology

ARCA logoThe University’s flagship consultancy unit is ARCA, Archaeology’s successful consultancy arm. Launched in March 2005, it carries out work locally as well as further afield, such as in Bristol, Worcester, Devon, Cornwall and Jersey. The focus is on geoarchaeology, geomatics and geophysics, and, uniquely in the world of commercial archaeology, ARCA also offers reporting, editing and translation services. Sports

Sports Studies’ consultancy unit SSCU, launched in 2006, focusses on the disciplines of sport and exercise physiology and psychology. SSCU's services are available to both individuals and teams and all staff are members of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). Business School

Education

The University is also the base of the Winchester branch of the Comino Foundation, an educational trust, and of the Centre for Real-World Learning, which develops knowledge and provides coaching in the field of learning.

Psychology

The Psychology Department has been carrying out consultancy for organisations and institutions in the local community and beyond (such as schools, local government and business) for a number of years and has considerable expertise in applied psychology. Research and Policy Centre for Wellbeing in Communities

Set up to foster closer links between the University and the local community, this centre draws on the expertise of academics and professionals in the fields of social science, community development and healthcare.
